JORA began with a simple question:
If we are so careful about what surrounds the earliest stages of life, why shouldn’t we bring the same thoughtfulness to the products we use every day?
With a background in stem cell research and reproductive medicine, JORA’s founder spent years working in fertility research laboratories, where precision, purity and careful control of the environment were part of everyday practice.
In reproductive medicine, even seemingly small details matter. Laboratory environments are carefully controlled, and strongly fragranced products such as perfumes are often avoided — a reminder of how thoughtfully we consider the environment surrounding the earliest stages of life.
That experience changed the way she looked at everyday personal care.
If we think so carefully about what surrounds life at its very beginning, she wondered, why shouldn’t we be just as thoughtful about the products that become part of our everyday routines?
From soaps and balms to products used around babies and families, formulations can sometimes be more complicated than they need to be. JORA was created from the belief that everyday care can be simpler, more considered, and made with greater awareness of what we put on our skin.

Rather than following trends or adding ingredients simply for their appeal, we believe in asking three simple questions: Why is this ingredient here? What purpose does it serve? Does it truly need to be part of the formulation?
Our approach is simple: thoughtfully selected ingredients, purposeful formulations, and fewer unnecessary irritants.
We don’t believe that “natural” automatically means better, nor that a complicated formulation is necessarily more effective. Instead, we value transparency, simplicity, and evidence-informed choices.

Working in reproductive medicine taught our founder something that stayed with her: the smallest beginnings of life are treated with extraordinary care.
